Alpha Omega Chapter of Delta Gamma

Alpha Omega’s history traces back all the way to 1925, when a group of young women petitioned Delta Gamma for the establishment of a chapter at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.  On October 11, 1930, their dreams came true, and Alpha Omega was installed as Delta Gamma’s 45th chapter. Alpha Omega is the only chapter to have two founders at its installation. Mary Comfort Leonard and Eva Webb Dodd were in their 80s when they attended the establishment.

Alpha Omega’s proud history is remembered best as consistent academic achievement, campus leadership, focus on community service and unwavering sisterhood. With more than 1,300 initiates, Alpha Omega Chapter has nurtured and sustained women during some of the most formative years of their lives, cultivating lasting friendships in the process.
